The Paris Greyhounds will head out on the road to square off against the Bourbon County Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paris is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, things could have been worse for Paris, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-53 loss to the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, Paris can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 13th).
Meanwhile, Bourbon County came up short against the Panthers on Saturday and fell 52-42. Bourbon County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Paris' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12. As for Bourbon County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Paris came out on top in a nail-biter against the Colonels when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 53-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paris since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
