The Scituate Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Johnston on the road by a decisive 33-14 margin.
Despite the defeat, Scituate had strong showings from Paul Zolkos, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, and Charles Grover, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Finegan, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Matt Clements was another key contributor, throwing for 107 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Scituate has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Johnston, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-3 record.
Scituate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Johnston also has no future games currently scheduled.
