The Daviess County Panthers will head out to square off against the Heritage Hills Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Daviess County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Owensboro 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 13 matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Briley Henry was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last five contests. Sadie Morris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Heritage Hills waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-0 victory.
Miriam Gordon and Mia Kiegel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gordon tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Kiegel didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Gordon has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Gordon went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Kiegel went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Gordon also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Avery Sabelhaus was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Sierra Wargel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Heritage Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.
Heritage Hills' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Daviess County, their record now sits at 20-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Daviess County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. However, it's not like Heritage Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Daviess County took their win against Heritage Hills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
