The Andress Eagles were the 35-28 winner over the Chapin Huskies when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Andress took a serious blow against Chapin on Friday, falling 49-21.
Erick Blucher and Marcus Wilson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Blucher picked up 127 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Wilson rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Daveon Singleton was a one-man wrecking crew for Chapin as he rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Ortega, who rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Chapin's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Atamu Erickson and his two sacks.
Andress' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Chapin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Andress will head out on the road to face off against Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wylie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Andress in Texas (Wylie is ranked 182nd, while Andress is ranked 873rd). As for Chapin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cooper is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
