After flying high against the Summer Creek Bulldogs last Wednesday, the West Brook Bruins came back down to earth. West Brook took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atascocita on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Brook in their matchups with Atascocita: they've now lost five in a row.
West Brook lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Garrett, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Jones, who scored ten points.
West Brook's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Atascocita, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.
West Brook will head out on the road to square off against Humble at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Humble's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Atascocita, they will be playing at home against Beaumont United at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in the nation (Beaumont United is ranked 48th, while Atascocita is ranked 59th).
