While Torres put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Mendota. The Toros put the hurt on the Aztecs with a sharp 26-0 victory. That looming 26-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Toros yet this season.

Torres' receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Amerie Lujan and Emma Gomez. Lujan threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns while Gomez gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns.

Torres didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Natalia Cortez.

Torres' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Mendota, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Torres didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-0 victory against Golden Valley on the 6th. As for Mendota, they will head out to take on El Capitan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gauchos' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Aztecs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
