Vasquez played against Trinity Classical Academy and won via forfeit.
Vasquez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kristopher Horton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Horton has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Gavin Battey was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Vasquez has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Trinity Classical Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vasquez will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against St. Monica Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. St. Monica Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 679 points over their last nine games. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Faith Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Faith Baptist will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
