Baseball Recap: Braden River Extends Winning Streak to Three

Braden River proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Florida State University High School Seminoles 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Luke Duffy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jacoby Cox was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Braden River's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Florida State University High School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Braden River and Florida State University High School will both be playing Out-of-Door Academy the next time they take the field. Florida State University High School will head out to face Out-of-Door Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Braden River will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
