Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Drumright should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Barnsdall at 7:00 PM. Barnsdall will be strutting in after a win while Drumright will be stumbling in from a loss.
Drumright might have drawn first blood against Hulbert last Friday, but it was Hulbert who got the last laugh. Drumright were completely outmatched, falling 6-52 to Hulbert. Drumright were down by 6-36 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Barnsdall took their matchup against Afton by a conclusive 47-18 score. Barnsdall was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Drumright's defeat took them down to 0-2 while Barnsdall's victory pulled them up to 3-0. A win for Drumright would reverse both their bad luck and Barnsdall's good luck. We'll see if Drumright manages to pull off that tough task or if Barnsdall keeps their momentum going instead.
