The Forest Area Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Grand Traverse Academy as Forest Area made off with a 51-31 victory. That 20 points margin sets a new team best for Forest Area this season.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Dix, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Dix posted two or more blocks.
Forest Area's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road.
Forest Area won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mancelona at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Mancelona will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Catholic Central is ranked 727th, while Grand Traverse Academy is ranked 747th).
