It was a good run, but Cypress Lakes unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 44-32 to the Cypress Ranch Mustangs. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cypress Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Averie Steele, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Steele has scored at least a third of Cypress Ranch's points. Another player making a difference was Anaiah White, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Cypress Lakes' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-5. As for Cypress Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Cypress Lakes will head out on the road to take on Bridgeland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Ranch, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cypress Woods at 5:30 p.m. Cypress Woods has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Cypress Ranch will come in with six straight victories.
