It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Knightdale Knights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged Sanderson out 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Knightdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Dickerson, who scored 22 points. The matchup was Dickerson's third in a row with at least ten points. Khalel Sanders was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Sanderson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Patrick Dalton. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Dalton's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gordie Balas, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Sanderson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Knightdale pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.

Knightdale will take on Broughton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Broughton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three matches. As for Sanderson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Apex at 6:30 p.m. Apex will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Sanderson is ranked 123rd).
