Geneva is 1-8 against Madison since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Geneva Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Madison Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Geneva sitting on nine straight wins and Madison on five.
Last Tuesday, Geneva was able to grind out a solid victory over Jefferson Area, taking the game 56-48. Given Geneva's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Jefferson Area is ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 77-51 margin over Harvey. Madison has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.
JP Dragas was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six steals and five assists. He hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Seth Negan was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Geneva pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Madison, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Geneva came up short against Madison in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 82-76. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dragas, who dropped a double-double on 46 points and ten rebounds.
