Baseball Recap: Frazier Has No Trouble Against Southmoreland

Frazier won the last time they faced Southmoreland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Frazier Commodores were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Southmoreland Scotties. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Commodores.

Brant Alekson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Fulmer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Bachinski, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Frazier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmoreland only posted an OBP of .333.

Frazier's record now sits at 2-0. As for Southmoreland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Frazier will welcome Mapletown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southmoreland, they will venture away from home to take on Deer Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
