The Peebles Indians will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rock Hill Redmen at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Peebles focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
Peebles' game was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 54-46 to Lynchburg-Clay. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Peebles in their matchups with Lynchburg-Clay: they've now lost three in a row.
Peebles might have lost, but man, Payton Johnson was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 47.8% of Peebles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Abigail Smalley was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Rock Hill has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 44-21 victory on Monday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Peebles' loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. As for Rock Hill, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
