The Edison Eagles suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Coweta by a score of 52-50. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Edison of the 60-50 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2016.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coweta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Jensen, who scored 13 points. Caden Garrett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Edison's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5. As for Coweta, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-6.
Edison will be playing in front of their home fans against Sapulpa at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Sapulpa is ranked 92nd, while Edison is ranked 97th). As for Coweta, they will head out on the road to face off against Will Rogers College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Will Rogers College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
