Wingfield will look to defend their home turf on Thursday against Lanier at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Wingfield, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 6-51, which was the final score in Wingfield's tilt against Terry last Friday. Wingfield were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-30.
Meanwhile, Lanier had enough points to win and then some against Pass Christian last week, winning 30-14. The Lanier offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Lanier's win lifted them to 3-0 while Wingfield's loss dropped them down to 0-3. We'll find out if Lanier can add another positive mark to their record or if Wingfield can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Lanier's step.
