Yuba City (Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against
Bella Vista (Fair Oaks, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 33-20 victory on Saturday.
The Honkers put up 12 points in the opening quarter. Yuba City scored on a passing touchdown and an
Isaac Lessard touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, YC was up 26-7 at the half.
The Honkers grew their lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. Yuba City scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Taylor Wullschleger.
YC got revenge for last year's 35-20 loss to the Broncos with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Bella Vista, which notched a 49-13 victory over Mesa Verde in its previous outing. The loss snapped Bella Vista's two-game winning streak. The win brought Yuba City's winning streak to four games.
Bella Vista (2-2) will play a non-conference game against El Camino next week, while Yuba City (4-0) will take on Placer also in a non-conference game.
