The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Tolono Unity by a score of 56-46 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for Mt. Carmel as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Mt. Carmel was led to victory by Asher Kight and Blayne Sisson. Kight gained 271 total yards and three touchdowns, while Sisson rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Sisson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Tolono Unity, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Mt. Carmel will head out on the road to face off against Roxana at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roxana is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Mt. Carmel a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Tolono Unity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
