After flying high against Colleton County last Wednesday, Stratford came back down to earth. The Stratford Knights fell 30-22 to the Berkeley Stags on Friday. Leading Berkeley to victory were Henry Rivers and Bryson Mcgee. Rivers rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Mcgee rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Mcgee is becoming a predictor of Berkeley's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Berkeley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Stratford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-38 victory against Lucy Beckham on the 11th. Berkeley has also already played their next match, a 13-10 loss against Goose Creek on the 11th.
