After six games on the road, South Mountain is heading back home. They will take on the Westview Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for South Mountain, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-39 loss to North. South Mountain has struggled against North recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, South Mountain saw an underclassman step up: Nick Robinson scored 11 points. Tyler Pena was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Westview was beaten by Millennium 91-47 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Westview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Millennium is ranked second).
The losses dropped South Mountain to 2-4 and North to 1-4.
South Mountain took a serious blow against Westview in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 83-32. Will South Mountain have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
