Pleasant Valley came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Clinton River Kings as they made off with a 7-1 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Pleasant Valley pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 18 of their last 20 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.
