After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenville H, the Asheville T Trailblazers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took down Blue Ridge Early College 52-35. Asheville T pushed the score to 42-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Blue Ridge Early College cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Blue Ridge Early College saw an underclassman step up: Brooklyn Kenney dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten steals. That was a full 88.6% of Blue Ridge Early College's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Asheville T back to even at 3-3. As for Blue Ridge Early College, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Asheville T will face off against Invest Collegiate Imagine at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge Early College won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Summit Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Summit Charter is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
