After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haxtun, Akron was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Holyoke Dragons as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Kolten Randel and Zach Bowin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Randel pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Bowin kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Randel went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Bowin went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. With that strong performance, Randel is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Jax Kusel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Camacho, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
