The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons had to suffer through a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They captured a comfortable 65-54 win over the Watseka Warriors on Tuesday. Since Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley won the last time these teams met, too, this is only more fuel for the fire driving Watseka's future revenge.
The victory bumped the Falcons' record up to 6-19. This is the second loss in a row for Watseka and nudges their record down to 13-14.
The Falcons have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome Eureka Friday. Eureka is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 64-56 victory over Heyworth on Tuesday. Watseka is on the road again Friday and plays against Paxton-Buckley-Loda. Watseka is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
