Waynedale hasn't had much luck against Hillsdale recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Golden Bears will take on the Falcons at 12:00 p.m. Waynedale knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Hillsdale likes a good challenge.
Waynedale barely beat Smithville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Bears blew past the Smithies 10-3 on Friday. The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Hailey Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Izabella Grassman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Carleigh Lynch was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Waynedale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 7-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Dalton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Bulldogs. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kiki McFadden was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Schmitz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Hillsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Waynedale, their record now sits at 9-10.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Waynedale has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Hillsdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Waynedale might still be hurting after the 21-2 loss they got from Hillsdale when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
