Levi Walker had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Plattsmouth is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Bradin Vanwinkle was another key player, throwing for 125 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Plattsmouth didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Platteview to a completion percentage of just 37%. The team can thank Nathan Frederick for the heroic effort on defense: he. Plattsmouth has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.57 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.57 in their last three games.
Plattsmouth's defense didn't let Logan Grosdidier, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jacob Longton and Nolan Pella, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Ralston had to suffer through a 63-28 loss at the hands of Gretna. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plattsmouth will need to focus on slowing down Cade Stix, one of several Ralston players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Broderyck Jenkins also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.
The victory got Plattsmouth back to even at 4-4. As for Ralston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Plattsmouth has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ralston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Plattsmouth was able to grind out a solid win over Ralston when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 41-34. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Stix, who threw for 319 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 70 yards and two scores. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Blue Devils still be able to contain Stix? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
