The Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles lost against the King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sand Point took a hard 71-52 fall against King Cove.
Despite the loss, Sand Point still got an impressive performance from Rowdy Tripp, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 51.9% of Sand Point's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Calugan, who scored 11 points.
Sand Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for King Cove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Sand Point's road trip will continue as they head out to face King Cove at 10:30 a.m. on January 20th. King Cove will stroll in with a four game home winning streak, but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their February 25 matchup with Sand Point. They will take on Sand Point at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Sand Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
