Basketball Recap: Vistamar Piles Up the Points Against New Roads

Vistamar had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 32-point drubbing they dealt New Roads on Friday. The Vistamar Vikings breezed by the New Roads Jaguars to the tune of 74-42. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vistamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Hill, who went 11 for 21 en route to 27 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hill's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Landon McMorris was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Vistamar is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for New Roads, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Vistamar will head out to face off against Hawthorne Math & Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Vistamar is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for New Roads, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-44 loss against Wildwood on the 25th.
