Monta Vista's game on Thursday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Cupertino 53-47. Monta Vista has struggled against the Pioneers recently, as their game on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Lynbrook came up short against the Firebirds on Friday and fell 49-37. While losing is never fun, Lynbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Firebirds are ranked 282nd).
Monta Vista has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Lynbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Monta Vista beat the Vikings 52-42 when the teams last played back in January. Does Monta Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
