Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxon Coduti, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Coduti is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Caiden Broughton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Notre Dame smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Valley View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Great Oak 70-31. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-21.
Loss or not, Valley View got some senior leadership from Kenneth Hutchinson and Reshawn Alexander. Hutchinson posted ten points, while Alexander had six points.
Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Notre Dame has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Valley View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Notre Dame skirted past Valley View 65-62 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Notre Dame since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
