Port St. Joe was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Liberty County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
Port St. Joe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayla Hill, who scored ten points along with six steals, and Ty'Shawn Shackelford who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shackelford has scored all season.
Liberty County had a senior duo take command as Gabriella Flowers scored 18 points and Caleigh Peddie scored 14 points.
Port St. Joe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Liberty County, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Port St. Joe will head out on the road to challenge Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Emmanuel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Emmanuel Christian is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
