The Fountain Central Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 78-27 win over Attica. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-8.
Fountain Central had a senior duo take command as Will Harmon scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Isaac Gayler scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Gayler has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Foxworthy, who scored nine points.
The win got Fountain Central back to even at 9-9. As for Attica, their defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Fountain Central will look to defend their home court on Friday against Parke Heritage at 7:30 p.m. Parke Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Fountain Central likes a good challenge. As for Attica, they will head out on the road to square off against South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Vermillion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday.
