Baseball Recap: Lincoln East's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Lincoln East waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Burke Bulldogs a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Santino Arranaga looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lincoln East let Brodie McIntire and Carter McPeak run wild. McIntire went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while McPeak went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs McIntire has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Bryson Rhodes, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Lincoln East pushed their record up to 28-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burke, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

Lincoln East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-4 win against Creighton Prep on the 10th. Burke does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
