The Woodlawn Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gurdon Go-Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Woodlawn's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Go-Devils have been banged up by 19 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Woodlawn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to the Dragons.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-33, which was the final score in Gurdon's tilt against the Dragons on Monday. While losing is never fun, Gurdon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Dragons are ranked 117th).
Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Gurdon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
Woodlawn took their win against the Go-Devils in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 56-31. Does Woodlawn have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Go-Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
