St. Pius X extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 8-3. Everything went their way against the Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars as they made off with a 10-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Sartans, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lilee Zarate looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zo? Mangrum, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Aubri Hooee was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
St. Pius X was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered against St. Pius X since March 20, 2024.
On Atrisco Heritage Academy's side, Myriah Cordova and Jazelle Romero did some serious damage despite the final result: Cordova went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Romero went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
St. Pius X has already played their next matchup, a 9-4 defeat against Cibola on the 19th. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Del Norte on the 19th.
