Churchill is 0-10 against Wayne Memorial since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Churchill Chargers will be home for the holidays to greet the Wayne Memorial Zebras at 7:00 p.m. Churchill comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Churchill was the victim of a tough 71-49 defeat at the hands of Seaholm.
Despite the loss, Churchill saw an underclassman step up: Diego Cantu scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Fergin, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Wayne Memorial came up short against Lincoln on Saturday and fell 56-47. Wayne Memorial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Churchill bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wayne Memorial, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.
Churchill was taken down by Wayne Memorial 95-42 when the teams last played back in February. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Churchill was down 61-29.
