There's no place like home for Ionia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Lakewood Vikings with a sharp 10-4 win on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Parker Seidelman made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. Seidelman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jaxon Palmer was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Roundtree, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Ionia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Ionia back to even at 2-2. As for Lakewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ionia will face off against Fowlerville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakewood, they will challenge Dansville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
