The Luverne Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 40-13 loss at the hands of Reeltown. Luverne lost against Reeltown in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-14 score last time.
Reeltown was led to victory by Tae Martin and Arthur Woods. Martin rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while Woods rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Woods' longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Alijah Woods made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Reeltown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Baylor Clayton and his two sacks.
Luverne's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Reeltown, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Luverne will head out on the road to face off against LaFayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LaFayette is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Reeltown, they will be playing at home against Highland Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Home is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
