The Homestead Spartans will be playing at home against the Norwell Knights at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The last three games Homestead has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 On Thursday, it was a hard-fought  matchup, but Homestead had to settle for  a  5-4 defeat against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran.
  Addie May Fleming put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. Fleming was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  double.
 In other batting news,  Isabelle Waldron was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with a  home run and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Grace Jordan, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Norwell got the win against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers  on Tuesday by a conclusive  10-3. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Norwell.
  Kara Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Norwell let  Abby Wagner and  Reese Frauhiger loose on the outfield. Wagner  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI and a  double, while  Frauhiger  went 2-for-4 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and a  run.  Makayla Young was another key contributor,  going 3-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 Homestead has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record  this season. As for Norwell,  the  victory  got them back to even at 2-2.
