The Bennett Tigers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 57-32 margin over Colorado Springs Christian. With that win, Bennett brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Bennett got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Austin Stiers out in front who scored 16 points. Stiers also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Owen Stiers was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Jeremiah Schmidt and Jace Velasquez certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Schmidt scored 12 points, while Velasquez scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Mikey Orawiec, who scored three points.
Bennett's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Colorado Springs Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Bennett will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fowler at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Fowler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
