The Elkhorn South Storm can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down Burke 62-48. That's another feather in the cap for Elkhorn South, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Elkhorn South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Penke, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Penke has scored all season. Alexa Eddie was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Elkhorn South's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Burke, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will take on Elkhorn North at TBD on Monday. Elkhorn North will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Elkhorn South surely won't give up without a fight. As for Burke, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burke is on a six-game streak of home losses, Westview a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
