While it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, the Haywood Christian Academy Red Wolves were not quite the Challenger Firebirds's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 45-42. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Haywood Christian Academy of the 57-46 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Leading Challenger to victory were Braelon Roe and Riley Annis. Roe scored four points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Annis scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Roe also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kendall Reinhardt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Haywood Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Challenger, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Haywood Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Challenger also has no future games currently scheduled.
