The Monsignor Pace Spartans extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes. They secured a 63-59 W over the Tornadoes. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Monsignor Pace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jabari Dukes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Trenchfield, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Booker T. Washington still got an impressive performance from Zephaniah Pratt, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jahmal David, who scored ten points.
The win made it two in a row for Monsignor Pace and bumps their season record up to 16-11. As for Booker T. Washington, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Monsignor Pace will head out on the road to challenge Mater Lakes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Pace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Mater Lakes Academy is ranked 19th). Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
