On Thursday, the Centennial Bulldogs faced the Coronado Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Centennial was the clear victor by a 92-72 margin over Coronado. The win was just what Centennial needed coming off of a 82-54 defeat in their prior contest.
RJ Nance was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 38 points and 8 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Price, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.
The victory got Centennial back to even at 11-11. As for Coronado, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-9.
Centennial will take on Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Mojave is ranked 11th, while Centennial is ranked 17th). As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
