Baseball Recap: Seattle Academy Takes a Loss

Seattle Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeside Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since April 9th.

Eli Herst put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Seattle Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Lakeside, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Seattle Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeside, they will venture away from home to face off against Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.2, the Beavers 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
