The Highland Park Scots will face off against the Creekview Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Highland Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Highland Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Reedy on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Scots haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Maryn Muntz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Creekview). They never let Newman Smith get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the game before.
Kelis Lee was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Lee was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Quinn Olsen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaella Mandujano, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Creekview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Creekview, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Highland Park hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Creekview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Highland Park got the 'W' in their previous matchup on March 3rd against Creekview by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Scots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
