The Wicksburg Panthers lost against the Zion Chapel Rebels back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wicksburg fell to Zion Chapel 47-43. While losing is never fun, Wicksburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Zion Chapel is ranked 90th).
Zion Chapel had a senior duo take command as Slade Grantham scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds and Jacob Chestnut scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Grantham has scored at least 25% of Zion Chapel's points.
Wicksburg has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Zion Chapel, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Wicksburg will be playing at home against Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Zion Chapel is on the road again on Friday and play against Pleasant Home at 7:15 p.m. on December 8th. Pleasant Home will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
