Even though the Floyd Central Highlanders scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, the Castle Knights still came out on top. Castle walked away with a 75-65 victory over Floyd Central. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Castle also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Castle can attribute much of their success to Xander Niehaus, who scored 27 points along with 4 steals. Niehaus is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Wongler, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists.
Castle's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Floyd Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle will challenge Evansville Reitz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Floyd Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Floyd Central in Indiana (Providence is ranked 53rd, while Floyd Central is ranked 263rd).
