The Garfield Heights Bulldogs were the 51-49 winner over the Coventry Comets when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Garfield Heights fell 41-28 to Coventry on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Garfield Heights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Coventry is ranked 721st).
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stacia Mobley, who scored eight points.
Garfield Heights' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Coventry, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield Heights will square off against Bedford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bedford is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Coventry won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Norton at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Norton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
